Introduction

Below are a collection of sample shots from garden projects which we have built over the last three years. Many of our gardens include retaining walls, sandstone and limestone paving, sandstone setts, reclaimed sandstone walling, turfing and planting. Please get in touch with any questions.

Liberton Garden

This project included sandstone paving at the back of a new extension to the customer's house, sandstone setts laid as a mowing strip around the newly laid turf and a re-shaping of the garden in general.

Murrayfield Garden

A straightforward replacement of broken concrete for sandstone paving in a back garden in Murrayfield. This paving works well laid either in a coursed pattern, or in a more elaborate 'keystone' random pattern.

Baberton Garden

This garden on three levels needed some improvement to allow it to be used for sitting out in rare sunny evenings(!), for clothes drying and for the customer to enjoy his plants. A deck was built using larch timber, grey sandstone paving was used for capping the retaining walls and steps and a heritage render was used to finish the walls.

Joppa Garden

Around thiry tons of soil and subsoil were taken out of this garden so that the area for parking could be on a level. Grey sandstone paving was used around the house and in the curving path to the front gate which ties in the with sandstone construction of the house.

Trinity Garden

In this garden we used sandstone paving, larch timber to face some pretty big raised beds and build a deck and used some fibre optic lights in the paving. Each of the 60 lights ran on its own cable from the house and had to be held in position using a cocktail stick in a dab of cement while we pointed the paving joints. Not an experience I'm sure I want to repeat...
